2011 CrankBrothers Eggbeater 3 Pedals (only in RED)
The Crank Brothers Eggbeater pedals have been a popular lightweight mountain bike clipless pedal for a number of years now and have recently gone through an upgrade to make them even more reliable.

The 2011 version has been made with a chromoly axle that is up to 150% stronger than the original version and this provides a more reliable lightweight pedal that gives tremendous performance. The Eggbeater 11 comes with a titanium axle which will cater for a larger body type with 200 pounds being the rider weight limit that is quoted.

The features of the Crank Brothers Eggbeater pedals that are worth mentioning include the four sided entry, the ease with which the pedal clips and unclips, its mud shedding design and its simple construction. The pedals engage with a very audible and reassuring click letting know that you are securely clipped into your pedals.

These pedals perform very well in the mud, a feature that is highly desirable in a good mountain bike pedal. The fact that you will be riding over some rough terrain means that you will inevitably encounter the odd rock or tree root and the pedals are going to strike them or the ground along the way. The problem with damage to the pedals has been addressed by the company with a sturdier range of pedals now available.
